from an article
According to eWeek, Kanoodle plans to expand ContextTarget past the big partners and to everyday web publishers as competition for the Google AdSense program and Quigo.
Has anybody actually used either of these?
Could they possibly be serious competition to Google's adsense?

Hmmm.. Personally, I think it's too early to say.
Kanoodle is definitely a much smaller operation, but I don't believe you can discount them (or other competitors) out of hand just yet.
The little guy has come out pretty decent before. Perhaps they won't be in the same league, but my personal opinion is that Contextual Advertising definitely needs more players.

I agree, contextual ads need more players, but good ones. I really dislike kanoodle. Their personell is great, but their traffic, for me, has been horrible.I don't discount them, but if they don't clean up on their traffic act, I don't think many people are going to hand them their money too easily, atleast I won't.
I still use kanoodle, cuz I get some ROI from them, but I don't do it with a smile on my face. Again, their customer service is excellent.

If you call Kanoodle they'll block all non-U.S. traffic manually on request. If you aren't already doing that it could help ROI.
