I was curious if anyone had any exerperience reselling text ads and banner ads (text ads being the focus of my question). I currently have an arrangement where I am hosting several high traffic websites on my dedicated servers for free in exchange for programming services for another business. Some of the site owners have begun putting AdSense on their site (to make some money on the side). What I would like to do is set up my own ad system, and require these site owners to run my own ads. But, of course I don't have an ad network nor any ad inventory.
Does anyone know of a good company that I can become a reseller of? Maybe something similar to AdSense but would say "Ads powered by ABC Company". Of course in addition to private labeling, I would need to make enough money to take a cut, and then pay the site owners myself.
I am concerned that such a service does not exist, or that I will not be able to make enough money so that I am paying them "more" or "close to" what they would making if they just kept AdSense. One day I would like to have my own ad exchange, etc and my own inventory; but I have to get a start somewhere and it looks like reselling my be the best bet so far.
Any help would be great. Happy to have found this forum nonetheless!
