When I use Google Webmaster Tools I see 100's of Back links from other websites to mine, when when I use link:http://www.xxxxx.com/ I only see one -
This is puzzeling

WMT shows the site owner a lot more information than they let just anyone see by using the link: search.
You don't need the http:// part in the link searches.
You should also try link:domain.com (i.e. without www) and see what you get.

I had tried with and with www and http:// and all the same results 1, but within the Google tools it show 100's.
Just wondering why and how you trust either when you get 2 completely different results from the same source.

Only the site owner can see the WMT data.
Google shows a lot more in there than it does elsewhere.
Yahoo SiteExplorer is also very useful.
