1,700,000 in the US of A. That's a dance. Checked client rankings too, and a bunch have moved. Yup. Put on your freakin' shoes. It's official. Have a nice day and don't get rank-led if your rankings aren't great.

Fleur, do you understand that we are saying the official sign we are looking for is in a change in the backwards links for yahoo?
i.e. search here, what do you see? is there a change yet? Until there is the dance is not called "official" .. there are signs that it is building up, but it's not cooked yet

No change in my backlinks or in Yahoo links here. Sounds like something is happening, but I'm still looking at 642,000 Yahoo backlinks on www, www2, and www3 as of 8:52 EST in Toronto, Canada...eh.

I'm in LA - nothing here yet.
I get excited each time, and then, nothing.
There are some search terms of mine that show more hits on www2 and www3, but that's normal, right?

It has been going on for several days now. I have seen updates in my site and my clients site Mar,1,2 and 3 2003.
My client's web site is hosted by Earthlink, Pasadena, CA? I have no idea where the web server is located, but I don't think the location has anything to do with it.

i just don't get it
if i uploaded a 100% new site/design/text mid feb... when would you expect the results to show in the search?
assuming you have bot activity, how long does it take from that bot activity to manifest itself in the searches?

fyi - i just ran a couple tests
i took a couple static pages from my web server... standard HTML... created and modified dates were 2/3/03
i took a dynamic php pages that load dynamic content and assemble the page on the fly that were uploaded around the same time... created and modified dates were 3/5/03
** Note - this was simple url, site.com/file.php, not site.com/file.php?variable=value
just a thought for you guys... set up a db with like a "news" table and load the news into the page via php and your content will always be "new"
regardless of how often you add data, it's always a new file.
...and adding a row or editing an existing row in a database beats the heck out of making changes to the html and uploading the pages.
