In the past 3 Months I've seen for one site the backlinks drop from 216 Page be4 the last Dance (Pre Feb/March Time) to 19 backlinks up until recently.
Now today I see the backlinks have dropped again to just 7.

Anyone else experienced this?

I seen all index.htm/index.html pages ignored, which accounts for the 95% of lost backlinks.

For a site new only a few months ago, it took a while for Google to show even just a few backlinks.

Using the link: command it had only ever showed two.

With inurl: it listed about 6 other backinks as well as about 10 internal pages.

A few weeks ago, the external pages disappeared from the inurl: results.

A week or so ago, Google showed a couple of new links using the link: command (and still does), but at the same time seemingly forgot about all of the ones that it previously knew about and that it had previously displayed using the link: and the inurl: command.

I've noticed a huge drop in back links on several sites that I have been tracking. On the other hand, some sites have not changed much at all. Go figure.

Well for one site using the inurl:www.something-xyz.com it shows Results 1 - 2 of about 313.

So it knows there is 313 links but it's not showing them all, why?

I read in another forum that they are only showing the links with PR4 and greater - counting the others, but not showing them there. Any one else hear this?

Yes, I've read that in other places, but I don't know if it has actually been verified.
