Yeah sure, but they are all internal links (except a couple from a parent splash page). There must be more to its PR of 7...?

Alltheweb.com reveals more about a site's links then Google does.

Does this mean that even though Links are not in the Google backlink search they are still being counted by Google for Pagerank. Here is another site with a PR7 with almost no backward links ; http://www.1-spy-software.net

Yes, even though links are not in the Google backlink search they can still be coutned by Google for PageRank. Google just doesn't show ALL backlinks.

I have noticed a simular effect with my site
    [url removed]

It is a tightly themed site about ebooks and ebook marketing.
I have a PR5 with only 3 incoming links. I have over 40 internal links
that are being counted as incoming links

Google only seems to show backlinks in the backlink search that have PR4 or above AFAIK.

This leads me to a question I hope someone can answer:

How do you get internal links counted as backlinks? For example, I have a racing news website wiht lots of news pages that go up ona weekly basis...how do I get them to 'count' as backlinks?

Is it just a matter of getting ALOT of external links thus increasing my page rank and distributing that pagerank across those pages?

For them to show in the backlinks search it is usually a matter of pr. External links going to the internal urls in question may also play a role.

But, again just because internal links don't 'show' as 'backlinks' does not mean that they are not being factored into the rankings. If the links (external/internal) are cached within google's index - they likely are being taken into factor - onces processes such as time, filtering, penalties are implemented.
