Howdy,
12 weeks ago I put 301 redirects on a couple of domains (each had PR4) that were duplicates, then I submitted the new 'real' domain. As of right now, those domains that I put the 301 redirects on are still in Google's index and the new domain sits with a white PR bar. How do I get Google to remove the old domains and index the new one? The domain I'm trying to get indexed is [url removed]. (am I allowed to type that as long as it's not a clickable link?)
Thanks,
Lisa

What are the first domains that should redirect to [url removed]? I will check to make sure the 301 is set up correctly.
You can remove the old domains/sites by using the Google remove tool.

I did a little more investigating (as is my curious nature). It turns out that you are not doing a 301 permanent redirect from charitycars.org to 800charitycars.org--you're doing a 302 redirect, which is not what you want to do.
Not only do you have the wrong direct, there is another reason why 800charitycars.org is having problems. Contact me for more info about this as I don't wish to reveal it here publicly for certain reasons.

The old domains were [Please PM bhartzer as requested instead of posting urls. Your urls should be placed in your profile not your post -The JimWorld Staff]

Am very curious about this as I have a client who switched domains recently as well. It was around 3-4 weeks ago and the old URL still being indexed by google. I had most inbound links point to the new site. I did an HTTP header check and got the following so I'm sure I setup the 301 redirect properly:
HTTP Status Code: HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently
Date: Sat, 27 Mar 2004 00:08:28 GMT
Server: Apache
Content-Type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1
Anyone else ever do this? How long should I expect this to take? Thanks!

It often takes about 4 to 6 weeks for the change to take effect.
You need to wait a couple more.
