Please view my website address in my user lookup comments section. I am trying to optimize this page for the search term "digital caliper." Have a done anything right? Does it look like I'm spamming for the search term? I am being listed as number 26 in google, but wish to get higher. Any and all help would be appreciated.

You've done alright so far. The PR looks fine, and there appears to be enough spiderable text on the page. What I would do is get more links to that page, especially from other sites. That page is really only showing about 4 good links, which is not enough since they're coming from your own site.

Thanks for the reply...
That's a brand new page (about 2 weeks old), but that is not excuse for the lack of links. I have a problem that in my industry, which is small, that the only useful links to my site would be from either competitors or vendors. The vendors just don't put up links for their distributors, while I definately wouldn't want to link exchange with a competitor. Maybe I'm wrong on my assumptions about links to my site...

I think you've done very well getting links. I especially like the idea of sponoring Joe Gibbs. Ideas like that are great for getting links.
I don't think you're spamming for digital caliper. However, you're not doing all you should. You are not taking advantage of the title tag, the most important of all, or the description and keyword tags, less important, respectively.
The first thing I would do is get those two words into your title. I'm sure you can do better, but something like "Digital caliper and other mtrology solutions for the calibration industry from MIS-Viking Gage."

Ok, I've taken your advise and cleaned up my keywords, description and title. Have a look and let me know if this is what you were talking about.
Also, how do you guys know how many back links I have?

kmorton, looks better. I would still try to get the words 'digital caliper' in your title if that is the phrase you're trying to get traffic for.
As for the links, tey these two searches:
link:http://www.msi-viking.com at Yahoo (shows all links <Y> knows of)
link:www.msi-viking.com at Google (shows what <G> considers relevant links)

d_stew, I do have digital caliper in my title for my digital calipers page. Are your referring to my top page? I don't have digital caliper as a word in the title of my top page. But, that page is the doorway to my site and I have so many types of items other than digital calipers. I was just optimizing that one page for digital caliper. You can find the address for the digital calipers in the comment section of my user profile.

Yes, I assumed you wanted to get traffic to your home page for digital calipers. I think you're all set now. Another quick look at the title on your home page shows that you're making even better use of that title.
Looks good!
