Well its finally happened. Google has implemented Macromedia Flash Search Engine SDK and is indexing Flash Text, not just GetURL. Do a search for whatever and filetype:swf and you'll see what I mean ( : The link to the basic info is in my profile. I remember seeing a post a couple months ago but dont remember if anything was definatively discovered as far as Flash Text goes.

Perfect example:

"web hosting" filetype:swf

Well now that's cool. They've been saying for some time that they were getting ready to add that functionality, but I hadn't seen it actually working yet.

Yeah, I did some tests on Flash sites we have built and G really is getting in there and indexing content. Not as as good as old fashioned html yet - but the future is looking good...

Maybe we can have our cake and eat it smile

g1smd, I'm with you on that.

Hate the way flash is used. Some sites use flash to replace HTML when html is usually the best format for speed and reliability not to mention a person can't bookmark a specific flash display, but only the URL where the SWF file is embedded. Flash is good for certain things like demonstrations but not whole sites. That whole so-called "cool factor" is annoying.

...Hate those flash ads! They suck. Google text ads work quite nicely and convert better anyway. Animated flash ads are just plain waaaaayyy toooo annoying.
