I thought the initial freshbot boosts of yesteryear were long gone. However it looks like they are back. Lately I’ve had a lot of brand new pages debut in the top 10 in less then a week. Some of proceeded to slip in the rankings after that.
Can anyone shed some light on this?

their overall spider activity has recently varied. see this post for some insight from squirrel. there are also further theories around that they are completely rebuilding, etc

Ah, that's a pretty good post. It does suck however that we have no clue what's going on or if our rankings will start bouncing all over the place now. Google has been in a state of flux for far too long. Stability is a good thing.
