I have had a pretty good ranking for main site and sub pages in the past. No change in PR or anything. Suddenly
the main page retains the same position but the sub pages suddenly don't show in the top 50. Prior both main and sub page used to show side by side for main keywords.

P.S : The sub pages are very nicely done with a theme for each page and quality content etc. Since all the pieces are in place what could possibly go wrong ?

yes fully indexed and showing at 30th place. used to be in the first five. Also, the competion backlinks shows links from their own site pages. Same is the case on my site too i.e navigation link pointing to the sub pages.

    Hi animated3d ,

You are right!! It's the backlinks.. my footer and navigation menu was missing for about 20 days in end Jan / Mid Feb. Therefore there was 'no site struture' in place for a while. After that the end of Feb the link update occured and I lost the links. Therefore ranking for all the pages went south. Although my footer and links were back a few days before the link update but I guess it was too late at that time. Now I have a new site with a beautiful navigation but alas I may have to wait until the next link update.. Any idea when that may occur ? I am pretty sure I will be back with vengeance smile At the moment the only page that is doing well is my index page.

One thing I do see is all the pages are stil in google index. Thanks for the tip! i was banging my head on the wall for the last three days.. or shall I say nights wink

One more thing I need to add is that in the webmaster tools I see most backlinks to all the pages.. until Feb 27 with missing ones.. but when I type link://xxx I don't see any.. does that mean I still have to wait until next update or can it happen before that too ?

Google only shows some 5% to 10% of backlinks when you use the link command. Yahoo shows much more.

The list (on Google) is only updated a few times per year.
