Finally getting hits from Google. I'm wondering what I should be doing next. I want to improve my rating and be higher up. What can I do? How often should I submit my site or should I just leave well enough alone?

If Google has indexed your site, then you have no need to submit the site to Google.
Read around the forum for useful next steps, and ask if there's anything you don't understand.
