I belong to a company where the CEO and leading SEM master insist that the only true way to SEO is thru blogs and articles--I have been aware of this trend since it first really caught on...I just don;t think it can last; surely, sooner or later Google or 1 of the other SE's will catch on--this is just another sophisticated for of spam, to me..the thing is i lead a class using the pricipals of the company,even tho i really not convinced this will work for the long haul.
I've always been convinced that good quality content SEO optimized web-site and good qualtiy links was the only way...
anyway, any thots or opionions would be Greatly appreciated..

I totally agree.

Blogs may be good to promote other blogs, and for the short term, but they are far from a complete solution.

As for articles - like any other substantial content, they'll do you much more good on your own site!
