Hi i have a question. I have a dutch website. Recently I made an English version for the uk. What is a better name for the website?

For example: Dutch website is www.website.com. When you click on english version you get www.website.com/en. Is it better for google to make a new website named www.website.co.uk or keep it like it is?

www.website.com/en is ok. But www.website.co.uk is better for ranking in UK SE.

agreed - go for the localized domain if you can get it.

I too would agree with this. Going after the localized domain will give you the best chance for rankings in that market place. There is however, one big upside for going for /en, and a downside for the .co.uk.

If website.com is well established, then placing the English portion at /en, will give you more visibility, faster. It would simply be a part of an existing and indexed site, and give the existing site a huge content boost, may help with rankings for both languages. Going for the .co.uk, is great, but there you will be starting fresh, and will need to promote that domain (links etc) to get it started. May be a long period before it obtains its organic rankings. That said, you may get direct traffic from the dutch version, so perhaps organic rankings are not the core issue here.

Pros and Cons to both really...

It is better to upload this site into .co.uk domain for attracting the local traffic.

By this do you simply mean attracting people to click your link instead of another? If this is the case, I would probably say yes...

This is just a personal opinion with no research gone into it, but I know if I see two listings that interest me, I am more likely to click the geographic version relative to my location. I am in Canada, and if the #1 listing was domain.com and the #2 listing was domain.ca, I would probably click domain.ca (assuming the rest of the listing is a good match for what I am looking for.

When trying to entice searchers to click, There is more there than just the domain, but the domain certainly plays a role.

Likewise, if the results show a .co.uk, a dot com.au, a .jp, a .com and a .ca in the top 5, I will be most drawn to the .ca & .com's, and will probably completely ignore the other geographic locations (depending on what I am searching for)

Hi if you want domain name to optimize for search engines - will be better to use keyword reach domain like - seo-optimization - etc, search engines prefer keyword in domain name to boost the ranking - if you see the keyword - logo design india -in google.com - www.logopie.com will come first, if you see our article regarding domain name in web design

you dont? arnout may be a popular name in the netherlands then.. there is a guy called arnout in the netherlands who i know through a car owners club, and he is revamping his website for the UK, hence i put two and two together.

Oh, and a 1JZ is a rare engined toyota supra in the UK, which the other arnout happily pinches and butchers in order to get LHD versions. All very boring if you dont know him of course...
