RobPike,If you have access to your weblogs, check to see if the googlebot came to visit around 7/30 give or take a couple of days. That was the crawl that is building the new index (dance). You should look for a pretty deep crawl too, one of my sites had the spider index 3500 pages of my dynamic site. If she only stopped by and grabbed a couple of pages, then you probably missed the boat. You could still see your site's position change with some of the "everflux" that happens. Send me an e-mail with the URL your trying to position, and I will take a look for you.

gericsb, if you see the old index on www2 and www3, there is most likely a DNS problem. (Which IPs to the "cached" links have?). However, you can check www-sj.google.com. The new index is there.

RobPike, the Dance is nothing but a DNS thing. www sometimes resolves to the IPs of data centers which have the new index and sometimes to the IPs of data centers which have the old index. www2 and www3 usually resolve to the data center that is updated first. (it's not always the same data center that updates first) www-sj is the fix URL to this data center. And yes, it's pretty much over, although minor fluctuations in results may occur all the time.
