Hey, bit of a nasty question i guess but:

If an "Individual" has a domain name that links to your company, ie the domain name is "you comapny name" then is there any way to get that domain if its a .co.uk or a .com? I was under the impression COM and CO.UK domains are reserved for business use?

The situation is nebulous. Actually the intention was .com sites are for companies and businesses while .org was for (non profit ?) organizations and so on. But it is only a convention.

There's no easy way to go about this.

If you own the trademark or copyright for the phrase in question, you'd have a good chance of success int he courts - but that's an expensive proposition.

If the individual isn't using the site actively, you might think of offering them a small sum for the domain. Sure, one might think - why should I offer THEM money when it's my company name ... but it's probably cheaper than legal proceedings.
