I just like to say that i saw Evanescence live in the Manchester Apollo on the 31 October. They were excellent. Amy Lee (Lead Singer) was dressed in a bridal costume... they opening to her playing the music from Halloween (nice touch)... they performed most of their tracks from their debut album, plus one or two which I hadn't heard.
If you are fans of them, and you get the chance to see them, then I would recommend going!!! They sound exactly as you would hear on the CD.
Great entertainment, thoroughly enjoyed it!!
Has anyone got any bands they have seen live, which they would recommend????
Ps. I will be paying a visit to Manchester again next month to see Marilyn Manson. I haven't seen him live before, but i hear he put on one hell of a show!!!

You saw Saint Jimi, awesome! Aerosmith would be my favorite. The age group of the crowd was from 20' to 50'. We were all groovin!

I'd just like to say that it was me who posted the original message about Evanescence. Of course it never put my name in. As there have been a number of posts from that member with no name, I am guessing that these are other member’s posts, which havn't been registered properly.
(hopefully this message will register my name!!!)

No bad Phil...
Been in a new job the past year, still working in Liverpool... it doesn't involve anything to do with the web, so I don't spend much timeas I would like around her at the mo...
Plus I’ve got very rusty, so I can't even help out too much in here nowadays!!!
But, hopefully that will change soon, so ya all might see a bit more of me around hear asking the usual dumb questions about stuff!!!
Howz it been going for you (and anyone else for that matter!)

I saw the Stones, and AC/DC (and others) this summer in Toronto, and I have to say, AC/DC completely stole the show.
Absolutley awesome.

You have to start seeing these folks before they start to check out.
Big repect to the dud who saw Jimmi
For me Eagles were amazing. Dont Henly doing Boys of Summer whilst playing drum and sound studio produced was amazing.
Santana were good.
AC/DC in Milton Keynes were good although I would have liked to have seen Bon Scott.
Dave Brubeck (ala Take Five) was amazing and stil mad for at 86. What a geezer.
Dont forget Black Sabbath. Ooooo yes

Shed7 are always good live - much better than the albums.
Others that are/were good: Suede, Elastica, Gene, Subcircus, Feeder
I prefer the smaller gigs to the large events, for some reason you seem to get a better atmosphere.

I've found I'm not a huge concert fan. I went to a Creed/Collective Soul concert a coule of years ago and enjoyed it, but listening to the CD's or watching videos (which I do little of) is just as good.
Of course I've been to more Petra concerts than I can count. Many, many moons ago.

My first concert was Beastie Boys, back in the days of the "License to Ill" album - they were still playing college venues and it was one of the wildest nights of my life. Nothing has lived up to it so far.
Best of:
A pure spectacle "show ": KISS
One of the best group of musicians: Kings X
The best concert I can't remember: Depeche Mode

I was at the apollo on the 31st, evanescence were great! I was seated, right on the back row, but it was still great! (plus amy is so hot ) - seeing linkin park next month at the MEN arena, that should be excellent.
The download festival last may was brilliant, saw some of my fave bands, arch enemy (never heard them before, instantly became a fan), disturbed (all time fave band!), marilyn manson (puts on an entertaining show, even though the music isnt great), plus loads of others..
I went to a really small "funeral for a friend" gig a couple of weeks ago - they were very good live, and the atmosphere was great, there were only a 1-2 hundred people there, and the mosh pit was great fun

Seated on the back row eh steb!!! You must of been upstairs on the balcony (The posh part )
I was standing at the bottom. When we first got in, we could of been about 10ft away from her, but due to there being a bar at the back, we stayed near there!!! Still got a good view of Amy, and the band.
There was a good bit when she told the crowd that here wedding dress was falling to bits... after all the wolf whistles... i think she got a little embarrassed... bless her!!!
Another band a saw a few months back was in the Cavern in Liverpool called Ghost of the Robot. I doubt none of you know who they are (Neither did I at the time!), but the lead singer was Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
I not the biggest fan of the program, but it was an excuse to see someone famous... he played to about 200 of us, so i ended up being about 5ft away from him!!! He ain’t that tall (like most celebs), but the music they did was ok.

I still can figure out how these new bands get their names. Puddle of mud, wheezer, blink 182, Limp Bizkit
Jefferson Airplane, Led Zepplin, Rolling Stones, now those are great band names!
