Less clutter is a good thing

I may be completely missing things, but all I really noticed was the "Active Topics" list was waaay shorter than on Friday...
...and that were we told this place would be back today, and it was - very nice work folks!

Short active topics, because it has been out... have a look at the forums index please sports - and see if you can catch any errors or ommissions...
To compact forums a bit was the aim...

jcokos has his pace set with that lot - rest assured, I am sure he will be passing the buck shortly!
Did you know that if you stick to today's topics you might miss out on yesterdays and indeed prior good uns?

I should clarify that a bit.
I meant I was off to read items I hadn't read yet over the weekend...sorry about that.
I used to enjoy hitting the "Active Topics" button and seeing them all listed there - I'm sure it'll get back to that again in the future, though, as "today's" discussions are now showing in the "Active Topics" list.
I do, usually, take a stroll through the full Index, however - at least once a day I cruise around to see if I've missing anything.
...on that note, am I correct in noticing that "Online Marketing" is no longer?
(I swear, I did read EVERYTHING in the index earlier...LOL It's this 3 second memory which prompts my question...)
WAIT! Did I just ask a question...?

The new forums fall within 4 basic groupings:
Optimising
Marketing
Building
Community
I think it is pretty good, but ideas are welcome

I'd just like to say that Logan is the man who devised and collated all the info that has trimmed and consolidated the forums to they are now. A lot of work, more than you'd think - well done Chris - you da man!
Not to detract from the massive amount of work that John Cokos has done to make the changes happen.
Three cheers for the boys - Hip Hip!

Yep, I collated ... but many, many, many contributors including the discussions here in the member's lounge.
I'm glad you didn't notice much sportsguy ... hoping to incrementally improve things with out totally creating a new wheel that everyone has to get used to.
Glad that step is completed! We honed things down from 44 to 19 forums and I think it is an improvement for new and old users. But more to do ...
Please keep ANY suggestions coming

great work, I actually didn't even notice this morning, it's very clear and logical, and actually follows good web practices in terms of count of basic categories / subcategories.
All the choices make excellent sense, and the labelling of the forums is very clear. This should really make a huge difference long term in these forums I think.
To the people who collated etc all the threads, fantastic job, that has to be one of the most boring things in the world to do, you deserve a big round of applause for that work.
This is a great long term move, the categories make sense, but aren't as restrictive as they were in earlier drafts. All the categories make it really easy to just zip down the list to find what you want.
Again, nice work searchengineforums. But poor jkokos, he has to mod all those forums by himself...
