hey visitors, join the site and participate, it would be great to have you jump in and play
forums need active participants and this has been a great place since the day it started

I always wonder how many of the "visitors" are actually search engine bots and spiders.

I'm thinking there are a bunch of junk spiders crawling these forums to scrape content. Those scrapers are getting badly out of control. I think one of the sites I am helping to manage is being hit by junk spiders scraping content because the difference between the number of page views reported by google adsense and the number that is reported via my logs is vastly different. Either that or 66% of the people viewing my site have JavaScript turned off, but I don't think it's that bad with people turning JS off. So, it must be junk spiders creating the extra traffic.
I will need to examine the log files more closely to see which IP's are visiting my site repeatedly and/or downloading lots of pages and block those junk spiders. JimWorld will likely need to do the same thing and block junk spiders too.
