Found this when Danny posted yesterday, and added my 2 cents worth.
Just noticed this morning a mini-debate started over the topic of expiring old info/content. Specifically, a poster wants old (damaging) info about himself to expsire from certain places, in 3 years or so.
So if you post up on a forum, three years later the engines start disregarding it.
Someone else posted they agree and gave some far-fetched example of what could be old, useless info, and one of our own posted up with clarity on the topic - obvious NOT for expiring the content.
The thread is a good read thus far.

I read something like this. I can't recall the source right now.
A different twist to non expired posts:
But a poster at some forum posted some "nasty" behaviors on their own part and a company googled them when they applied for a position and was not hired based on these posts.
The poster went on to say that the posts were quite old, when they had been in college, but none the less they were coming up when this person was googled.
I guess in part the lesson here is don't use your real name
However it is very interesting subject.
