I know this subject is a few years behind, but it still seems to be a active one at many places online.

It is not one I have given much thought to until recently.
I would be interested in what others think about it.

Is it a "fad" that shall pass?

Is it a means if income, compared to web sites.

Do you view it as a social means?

I see so many places online about making tons of $$ with blogging - you know like the SE ads, click here and your site will go to number 1 laugh

Now THAT even I know is rubbish

I have no specific reason for this ----- just looking for different thoughts on this without having to read through the ads and scams wink

if someone has a blog that atleast brings in 1000 unique visitors a day then its a good opportunity to cash in on it with adsense or afficilates, but below i think its unlikelky to have a decent income through blogging

1000 uniques might bring in a decent living, but it depends on the subject matter and how well those pages convert to click-thrus. Sometimes you can have lots of uniques and still make tiny wages.

One blog probably won't generate enough revenue for you to live off. But several might wink

There are niche blogs which require specialist "recognized" bloggers to write for them - something like columnists in print media. It is not unusual to be paid well for the right people.

A blog is a good way to follow the thoughts of particular writers. It needs to be ordered and sequential.

A bad blog is just like mud at a wall - random and unpredictable.

All very interesting - Thanks smile

OTHER then $$ thoughts - what do you think of blogging staying around long term?

Do you view it as a social networking of sorts?

since the way to make $$$ with bloggin is through advertising i dont think that the same repeated blog visitors would care about the advertising , may it be banners,adsense.. new visitors are more likely to see something interesting and click it.
