Microsoft LIVE is looking more and more like just something they wanted to release at about the same time they shoved Vista and IE7 on the market.
The results are like a mad child would sort alphabet blocks or clean their room.
Sites are all over the board, day-to-day and don't seem to have any longevity, weight, veracity, strength ... In other words, it appears that Microsoft has made a search engine with a BLOG mentality. It's like some god-awful throwback "Be Here Now" data monster without a past and without a future.
I don't think you can "Optimize" anything for Live. They, on the other hand, probably think they're "ahead of the curve" with their algorythms by trying to be intuitive. Forget it.
My question is what defines complete failure if you are the default search engine on 90% of the software sold in the world? Somebody is failing hard in Redmond, all of which will be revealed to us in good time, I'm sure.
In the mean time, MSN search and Live are pathetic. What a recommendation for superior computing skill and prowess, eh? What are they thinking?
It's to the point that I don't care about traffic from MSN at all. They have become almost insignificant -- even on sites we host that see 11,000 page-views/day from around 2,500 uniques.
As the largest and most successful software company on the planet, is this what we can expect? Our sites come up great in MSN, compared to other folks, but the numbers are still ridiculously low and scatter-brained. It's like a Harem-Scarem plan with nothing at it's core.
I presume everybody else is having this same experience, or not?

MSN should stick to making softwares, unfortunatlythere is not a big competition for them in that field but MSN gots all the cash so they can keep attempt to stick their nose in other places and fail (such as their search emgine,zune)...etc
