i think it stinks, does anyone know the reasons why i am wrong or right? i need to let my clients know...

i think the text is poor ( blocky, hard to read ), boring, doesn't pull you in, poor use of color.

the size is not the problem here as this was done by a print guy.

let me know...

i agree, talk about zero impulse.

but i think this was created as a mock up by a print guy for a web guy to later recreate... it still stinks.

but this whole thing is geared to IMPULSE buying... it's a loser.

as excell pointed out, it depends on the media.

Based on what I'm seeing, online, this is terrible.

can't read any of the smaller fonts where the detail is. It's blurred together.

the colors are blending together over the yellow explosion thing the blur effect ruins it and there is to much black. the yellow is too deep of a yellow and it doesn't contrast with the red like it should.

the drop shadow, like the blur, pull the individual aspects together to much blurring any defenition the individual images have. this can't be good even in print. this won't even work for print.. it has a 'flyer' feel and this would have to be a full color glossy to print right.. no one in their right mind would print flyers like that.. 2-3 colors max and this won't translate well for that. if it is for the web.. no focus, when you look at it you cannot take it in at a glance and immediately understand the offer

ok, so it is for the web.. but it's created with the wrong focus.. being for the web, it's still horrible. The layout has to guide the eye to the hook. There is no hook nor any guidance. It's scattered. It takes way to much concentration to identify what they are offering with this image and why.

Two main point ruin this ad completely:
1. Text is not what it draws an eye to
2. What it draws an eye to does not carry the ad message sad

And media is irrelevant in this case.
Congratulations to your greedy customer for sending his money down the drain smile
