I keep reading that to get a high membership to a newsletter is a good way to get traffic to your web site - now assuming this thought is correct - I ask this question.

So if the newsletter brings them to your web site - how do you bring them to your newsletter? huh

Most newsletters I sign up for - I found at a web site....so I am not sure which comes first the newsletter or the web site traffic - aka chicken or egg question lol

Is there a different way to get membership to a newsletter other then posting the subscribe information on my web site?

FYI - I am talking about free newsletters and free web sites - as in no fees for members/visitors.

Beth, I swap ads with other newsletters to increase my subscribership. You might want to find other compatible audience subjects and see if other newsletters would want to swap ads with you.

Beth there are companies out there who help you to build a list for a fee. One of the best I've seen is List Builder and if you want to email me I will send you a link. I have built a great responsive list through them before they have even seen my website.

    Interesting.
Our websites have done well in the past, however we were asking for people to call us about our products and services. The demand for our main service dropped off which is causing alot of change.

We are currently redesigning our sites to use the autoresponder / affiliate style. I'm finding that the two ways to present the website are very different. I'm just starting the process to convert our sites to affiliate marketing. I would like to make money without having to talk to people if possible.

It seems that I'm having to focus the reader to signing up and giving me their email address compared to educating them about the service and then having them call our toll free number. I've got a great deal more enticing to do.

I used to frown up the one page sales letter type website that is really big on hype. They do draw your eye to their sign up area.

I get 200-300 visits per day on our sites. I have put some cj and click bank links on my sites. So far the sales have been dismal. I'm thinking that I may have to promote one item at a time and then market the heck out of it.

Do you have to use emails to be successful? I'm looking for others experiences.

I have always respected this forum for the SEO discussion etc. I guess I haven't focussed on the affiliate / autoresponder discussion here.
