My client got written up in the New York Times; I want to post the article in plain text on his site. I would include multiple links to the original source content, is that enough to avoid any trouble with copyrights?
What if I post just part of the article, with a link to the rest...?
Thanks
PB

You need to contact the owner of the article and request permission to reprint it. Typically, with publications, they have a policy about reprints and usually charge you for it. I would bet that the NY Times polices their stories pretty well, so you would want to contact them about it first.
You should at least be able to link to the article until you can get permission from them.
