I received a solicitation from a company that lets you buy a keyword phrase for a $700 annual fee. Only when a user downloads this plug in, and if s/he does a search on the keyowrd I bought, will our web site, with a link, supposedly appear above the search engine (Yahoo, Google, etc.) masthead.
Has anyone ever used such a plug-in service? I've been approached by other similar "keyword reseller" firms, but have shied away because they don't reach a universal audience.
Any thoughts?
