Hello,

I am new here. Hi all. I have been using webposition gold for several years now. I normally optimize for the Google search engine. I used to (3 months ago) have number one positions on several seach phrases. Google has now changed the way they index sites again. I know this happens all the time but try as I may a cannot get any of my domains back in the top 10 keyword phrase searches. Webposition tells me my pages have no errors but like I said none of my sites are anyplace near the top 10. Does anyone have any suggestions on better use of webposition gold or any tricks, ideas.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Doug,

Welcome to the forums! My suggestion would be to not rely on a computer program. Webposition Page Critic is more of a guideline of what you can do to improve your rankings. Honestly, your best bet is to get as many theme related links to your site as you can and make the page applealing to the user.

Just my 2 cents worth, hope it helps.

And make sure you're using the Google API key in WP - if not, they may be sending you data which would make WP show your rankings as "unlisted", etc., when in fact, they're just penalizing.

There was problems with abuse of the Google database by WP users a couple of years ago, and Google's answer was to "penalize" sites abusing Google's database by over-querying through WP.

I'm sure this would apply to any software tool and over-use, just that WP was the one made an example of & got talked about.
