Focusing on traffic is a common error. Traffic isn't the key - the key is traffic that converts, i.e., takes whatever action you desire them to take. First you need to define what that is and who your target audience is.

If you don't know I would suggest trying the new Facebook ads and targeting different demographic segments to find out. If you DO know, focus on getting links from or buying traffic from sources that match your target audience.

True, but in certain instances obviously these ads do not convert and all you do is waste time and money. CPM ads on facebook are hard to come by at times (at least the buy space you would want and extremely pricey) RON traffic, on ABC for instance, is fantastic. We buy a ton of traffic from them to arbitrage our tier one feeds. If CPC is not an option and you are selling specific products, go the way of CPV. It is primarily ad-ware targeted by keyword when a search is done or a 404 URL. Just my .02 =)

While ppc has been an awesome way to generate income in the past, it has declined in usefulness so quickly over the last year that I am strongly recommend that anyone currently using it immediately move to alternative sources of traffic.

Aim Clear recently posted about Google AdWords challenges and I have written volumes on my opinion that Google AdWords is broken.

The fastest, most efficient method for generating converting traffic at a profitable cost is through the use of high quality affiliates. I highly recommend visiting my favorite affiliate program experts at AffGoo.com.

I completely disagree with Flyingrose. PPC is a great resouirce to generate traffic to your website. Especially, if it is done correctly. However, everyone thinks their an expert and attempt to handle their marketing campaign themselves and do not receive the expected results. However, my advice is to hire a PPC advertisement Management company to handle your marketing needs. I am currently using ppcgeeks.net and it is wonderful.
