I've just had the pleasure of having a friend over from Los Angeles to Stockholm. This person did I meet at The Internet Marketing Conference in Montreal in May 2003. Have you made any friends from attending an Internet related event?

Yes, I believe I have. I also think that meeting at conferences confirms *tentitive* friendships with people we have met on line. It's an overall good opportunity for networking and building relationship where you can just be yourself.. which equates to fridndship and can turn out to be longterm.

I'll agree...I've met a handful of folks at the SES conferences that i now keep in touch with, and I've met half a dozen that I'd known online for a year or longer.

I've found that it's a lot harder to have silly little online arguments or to misinterpret things once you've met a person *in person* and get an idea of how they operate.
