Hi,
I have a little question, since Google changed there site about a week ago I noticed that when you do a search it highlights the search terms in the description and now (which is new) in the URL parameters ie. www.myterm.com/myterm.index.htm.
I was just wondering how much weight google now puts on keywords found in URL.
Thanks,
Vahine

weight and the URL have always been a topic in SEO for as long as I can remember and honestly I think from my experience that it has no real tangible evidence that the URL name will tip the scale one way or the other.
URL domain name > no proof
HTML page name > maybe (people will argue one way or the other I believe it doesnt)
Title yes
Alt tag yes
Description yes
Copy yes
H1 to H5 yes
Robot tag yes

Hi Huebdoo,
I am sorry I don't know what H1 to H5 means, can you explain, and thank you for your response.

The h1 to h6 are HTML tags. They're used to mark up headings.
Okay. I'm not sure what Jim's forums will make of this but here's a haphazard example:
<h1>Important Title</h1>
Introduction
<h2>Chapter One Title</h2>
Chapter One Text. Text. And more text.

Those tags are used for headings. The number describes the importance of the information (where <h1> is the most important).
Headings are a single line of text that is used above, and to introduce, the paragraphs, lists, tables, and forms of the main body content.
