In view of the burgeoning developments of the last few months, with emerging new search models, shifting algorithms and perhaps even the diminishing of page rank significance, all of which may be reshaping search engine dynamics, is there a downside these days to (re)directing keyword focused domain URLs to a target website.

And is URL frame forwarding, in which your domain name remains displayed, better than URL redirection to another targeted website (which might be considered cloaking?)?

Assuming the new domain names are themed as with related keyword phrases, how many domain redirects might be considered too many?

I used Framed redirects for over a year, and it kept me really, really TOP of the search engines for ALL my keywords. However , about one month ago, all the sites I had using it got removed from google. Luckily I noticed quick and just had to do some emergancy SEO, but I am back (After a week). Just thought Id let you know.

Thanks for your input, Cianuro. I appreciate it. I attended a search engine conference a couple months ago when Google announced that there would no longer be monthly updates or the 'Google Dance'...that they would be changing algorithms daily. I'm not sure if that had anything to do with your changes or not. Do you mind saying what your emergency SEO entailed?

Not at all, My "Emergancy" SEO entailed optomizing correctly! I did not care about the site, just the frame. I had to get rid of a lot of images, jsut the general stuff to make it "Google friendly".

It seemed to happen all of a sudden one day. Luckily I was watching.

With regards the daily updates you mentioned, I have been watching one particular site of mine for a particular search term and it has been changing placement between 1-10 every day. Yes, EVERY day it is changing its position (Over the past 3 weeks). From the sounds of things, not many people are noticing this in their sites.

Also, I have about 40 domains with relevant "keyword" in the name pointing to my "main" site. This has had no noticable affect on that sites ranking.
