Who would like to try my meta tag analyzer and give me some feed back?

http://www.thisisouryear.com/index.html?page=meta_analyzer

Microsoft would like to break it - the tags on www.microsoft.com seem to be malformed they have a funny /> thing going on at the end of their tags - does anyone know why? Or is this just a Microsoft ba11s up?

"seem to be malformed they have a funny /> thing going on at the end of their tags"

It's xhtml compliance - no tag can be left without an ending tag or ending slash.

In cases where there is no ending tag like </p> you just add it to the end of the line with a space like <br /> or <meta name="robots" content="index" />

I have been analysing many of these around the net and this seems to be one of the better free ones.
Clean and easy to follow.

One that I have seen somewhere gives you a percentage rating of each meta tag. It analyses via intergrating calculations from Title, Keywords & Description and references them to page content.

Curiosity Question - Was this script purchased or developed by yourself. (I am looking for one for a project)

Hey Profit Of Peace,

sorry the reply took so long - I haven't been round this way in a while. I developed the analyzer myself - I haven't done anything on it in a while so I'm just getting back into to update all the information and iron out a few bugs.

Glad that you liked it.

Cheers.
