I wonder what is the effect of file names in search engine listing?
most of them says that its good practice to keep file name according to the keywords u have.
but I m not clear with what difference does it make if we use - (hypen) or _(underscore)?
ur valuable comments are appriciated.

Google treats words separated-by-hyphens as separate words, but not those separated_by_underscores.
For words separated_by_underscores, the underscore seems to "disappear" on underlined links. Avoid the underscore.
Hyphens are probably the way to go. However, I use dots: www.domain.com/some.folder/the.file.html That also works well.

I wonder about this too. Currently I am using underscores with file extentions like this...
www.mysite.com/index.htm (main keyword)
www.mysite.com/other_keyword/index.htm (keyword #2)
www.mysite.com/another_keyword/index.htm (keyword #3)
I have seen it done this way and I have seen it done like this too..
www.mysite.com/index.htm (main keyword)
www.mysite.com/other_keyword.htm (keyword #2)
When I look at high ranking sites soome use both, which gets me to believe that it really doesn't hurt to go either way.
Anyone have an opionion on this?
Michael
