Hi;
I discovered that Google doesn't like deep directory structures. I've also noticed that they do like keywords in URLs. So, here's the example URL I'd like you experts to diagnose:

http://spices.caribbean.vi/Blind_Betty/Hot_Sauces_Chutney_Jelly.html

Presume that all terms are keyword phrases.
Let's start with the 2nd level domain [SLD], "spices". Does its being a SLD help, hurt or have no effect on optimization efforts? How about "caribbean"? "Blind Betty"? "Hot sauce", "Chutney" and "Jelly"? Lastly, is the structure so deep or complicated as to trigger whatever it is at Google that doesn't like deep directory structures?

TIA,
beno

Google doesn't so much look at the directory structure as the click structure -- that is, the site heirarchy as seen by clicks from the root, rather than looking at the actual folder and file heirarchy.

One other thing. Avoid spaces and underscores in folder or file names. Use only hyphens, dots, or commas instead.
