Which of these generally will receive a better ranking on Yahoo/MSN and Google for 'somekeyword'

A) www.domain-name.com/somekeyword/ (an index page with keywords named dir.)
B) www.domain-name.com/somekeyword.html
C) www.domain-name.com/somekeyword/somekeyword.html
D) Will not make a significant difference in ranking

I'll vote for D, in that it doesn't seem to be the distance that affects the crawl, compared to the actual link level. For example, if a page is several directory's deep, and the link is direct from the first page, the Google tool bar will show PR for that page at the same level as any other page. However, if the site links are structured like the ODP and Yahoo, links are structured from top level pages downward, then, PR drops with that structure. Unfortunately, the Google tool bar isn't a scientific tool, but after you read a few years of webmaster posts, the consensus, I have, is that, directory depth and organisation isn't a factor, as long as links are maintained direct from the top-down, rather than layered as done by directories.
