Something struck me while doing some directory submissions. I realize that the Directory PR may be high, but the page you actually get listed on may note be.

For example, I was considering paying for a PR 7 Directory submission, but the page I would probably be listed on was only a PR 3. I assume I'd only get the PR 3 credit, which I can get free from a lot of PR 5 (homepage PR) directories. Am I correct? Hope you're all looking forward to an enjoyable weekend -

Don't worry about PR. It is just one of 100+ factors that Google considers.

Take what you can get. It all helps.

That is correct. You will only get the credit of the PR3 because that's the page that your site will be listed on.

As g1smd suggests, PR is only one factor of many parts of the overall algorithm. You also have to consider how many outgoing links are on that page (if there are a lot then that could be a bad thing) and whether or not the page you'll be listed on is "on topic" or not. If it's on topic, then I would go ahead and get listed there.
