Hi
I have a question n DNS changes
I am clueless in this area and so will explain my problem (at least I think its a problem) in simple terms
I moved a site of mine from one host to another for no other reason than I didnt fancy all eggs in one basket. I havent done this before but was advised that it would be a sensible thing to do.
Having configured the DNS switch on my original host and then uploaded files to the new one - I am now wondering what the heck I do with my old files that are still showing on the old host. The folders are still visible in the ftp view and I dont know whether to:
Delete
Re-direct
or just leave them because theyve been superceded by the DNS switch and are sat their harmlessly.
The site is low volume traffic wise (but potentially high yield) with only about 30+ pages. What I dont want to do is start off badly and give myself a load of canononical issues or simply be penalised for duplicate content etc (logic suggests the latter wont happen but hey what do I know!)
Worryingly Ive also just tried a 301 redirect to resolve early development non www issues and my new host doesnt seem to like it - Im enquiring why but Im not too happy with what Ive heard so far
Any views on this?

IMO, just leave those pages and folders as it is.

Just learned that my site was hosted on a windows platform - now switched to Linux so Im hoping the .htaccess will work ok
Guess I will leave the old ftp files alone?
