After making robot.txt changes which were disallowing the spiders to crawl much of a site I am working on, I created a sitemap.xml and enrolled in Google Site Maps. The last crawl still says September 13. I submitted the sitemap about 6 days ago and had expected a much quicker update. Does anyone know how long it should be (after enrolled in Sitemaps) before I see my site crawled?

Have you checked your log files to see if they're crawling that section of the site? I wouldn't rely on what sitemaps says--the best answer lies in your log files.

To speed things up, you can get some more links to that section of the site--especially from other sites.
