It really depends how much time you want to put into marketing.
Heres a little advice I would give. If you WANT to make this a career and are prepared to work, then the real way to be successful is to write and post articles to directories.
I wish someone had said this to me much sooner than they did. We have all heard you have to get a list, the money is in the list. Well not for me, I wasted a year trying to get a list.
To see what I did, "Read how an amateur got to No 1 on Google"
If you are interested, I now have a Free submitter with 100 Directories, some of these Directories have a PR6 so they get you links that are valuable. Email me and I will send you the software.

I wouldn't send an email to someone whom I didn't know, as a result of their very first post on a forum.
No idea what I would get back in return, nor what you're doing with the list of email addresses collected.

If you want to view your website on top of the Search Engine Ratings then you have to manage your SEO operation properly. It will help you to get more traffic on your website. To get the best result from SEO you have to implement all the SEO techniques properly as well as you have to know how and where you require these techniques on your website.

Read the posts in this forum, going back months or more to pick up as much information you can.
Beware of most, if not all, of the "self-styled guru" sites. They are usually selling snake oil.
