Hi all,
I am new in seo and i have a site related to fashion cloth's .Which do not contain much content. Please give me some tips to optimize my site on the targeted keywords. I do not know the basic steps to optimize a site.
Please help me.

That's not true. Your site may NOT have much content. But the topic has huge potential to generate many many pages of content. You need to talk with some fashion designer to get the idea.

I'd concentrate on making sure each product appears on it's own page. After that, work on detailed, unique descriptions for each product.
Next I'd try to make sure the URL can be written to contain keywords relevant to the individual products.
After all that, I'd work on gaining links to my product pages - this one is a tall order, so don't give up too soon - it'll take time to build your inbound links.

People who have been optimizing the web for some time now, must keep patience.Sites have risen and fallen in search engine at times.They have also been fluctuations in rankings on a day to day basis.One must always be patient when a search engine puts your website inside the database.Once inside the database the search engine changes their alogrithms , thereby changing the rankings of the site.If basic techniques are optimized the site weathers the changes in search engine alogrithms.Some search engines change their alogrithms every other week to kep their data fresh and relevant.
Being persistent is also important.By keeping accurate records and reviewing them on a weekly or monthly basis chances of completing all necessary tasks are enhanced.Persisting at these tasks helps to go one step ahead of competition.Keeping in mind the theme and name of sites,focus should b kept do that it doesn't slip out of your hand's grasps.
Last but not the least it is important that one continues to upload data on the site on a steady schedule.
Keeping these factors in mind marketing of a site in seo becomes more easy.

1) React quickly. Commentators like Andrew Sullivan and Michelle Malkin draw megatraffic with immediate rebuttals to A-list pundits at The New York Times and Fox News.
2) Make your posts easy to read. Italian comic Beppe Grillo broke into the Top 10 by setting his key points in boldface.
3) Link, link, link! It's counter-intuitive, but the busiest blogs in Technorati's index are those like InstaPundit.com that link prolifically to other sites. Linking works because most bloggers reciprocate by sending their readers your way.
4) Optimize for search engines. Put the name of your blog (even if it's just your own name) in the main URL and the title tag of your site. On Technorati, identify your blog with search topics, like "politics" or "sewing."
