Hi one of our competitors seems to have gotten over a 100,000 links in six months or so, I don't think this is humanly possible but we would like to do the same, can anyone point me to how they have done this please? The url is modern-rugs co.uk
Thnaks in advance

it might be that they joined a few link farms so be careful if you wna do the same as they did it could have you get banned, or you can just ggo through those links and try to see if you can get thee same froom those websites.

Hi thank you for your replies.
I am using the 'Link popularity check program' I have searched through the listed backlinks but can't find any sort of linkfarm exchange, it's pretty baffling.

I see 36,000 backlinks for that url using Altavista. Only the first 22 pages (220 links) appear, though. The links I see on these pages seem to be all high quality.
Interestingly enough, when checking one of my own sites using Altavista, I see "only" 2,200 backlinks, but as many as 58 pages (580 links) appear.
It is normal that links are multiplied. Many sites have RSS or other multiple automatic listings. However acquiring 100,000 or 36,000 links overnight can't be good and will almost certainly trigger some kind of penalty. Don't be too jealous, and keep working on quality links.
