I regularly read up on this guy's blog called Blue Hat SEO and was wondering if any one else knows about this. What are you're opinions on this subject? For those who don't know about it, it is www.bluehatseo.com and they describe it as "advanced seo" methods. Personally I get a kick out of reading the articles on that blog. His idea's and methods are so creative and unique it's amazing. The article I most enjoyed on that site was the White Hatter vs. Black Hatter. Gave me a new perspective on things.
Anywho, what do you guys think?

What I love about these black hatters is the lengths they go to convince us that they are 'not really' black hatters.
Thing is, it's quite simple: if you follow guidelines and don't try to game Google (etc), then you are white hat.
If you do, then you are black hat. There's no 'third way'.
I've never had a problem talking with people who admit to being 'black hat' - I don't agree with them, and on occasion, I've been able to show them that if they applied their intelligence in a 'white hat' way, they'd do better - and sleep better. On occasion I've failed to do that. But they've yet to convince me that it's a wise route. Maybe I just don't like risks!
I never try to convince anyone on 'moral grounds'. No-one ever converted anyone to anything on a moral discussion; it's an utter waste of time trying.
It just so happens that in SEO, provided you don't want results NOW (and are prepared to take the risk that goes with NOW results), then 'white hat' methods are simply better.
What makes me laugh is these blackhatters (who call themselves grey, blue, sepia or whatever), who cannot admit it, even on totally anonymous blogs, like your fellow.
If cheating is so darned effective, why the need for such denial? Conscience? I doubt it!
And if they're that scared of Google identifying them, doesn't it occur to them that Google can find their spammy sites so much more easily?
What used to make me laugh, but doesn't any more is those highly intelligent and able people - who could do so well by honest means, but still choose to try to game Google, and damage their clients - and the reputation of SEO - because however intelligent and able, their greed is greater. It's a shame.

You should definitely take a quick read on that White Hat vs. Black Hat article. I'm not trying to convince anyone that one thing is better than the other, but nonetheless it's a good article.

Been there, got the T-shirt ... I prefer this analysis: "White Hats, Black Hats and SEs". Written by, er, me (he said, modestly).
BTW - look at this concise argument from a self-confessed black hat: "There is a divide in the SEO community between Black Hats and White Hats. SEO White Hats try to always play by the rules and organically grow sites over years and years. SEO Black Hats focus on winning the search engine game and making money today."
I can respect that - even though he rather exaggerates the time scales, in both directions!!

BLUE HAT SEO - Another controversial term arrived in the field of SEO. They are saying that they are dedicated to the art of Advanced SEO/Internet marketing and search engine optimization techniques covering the advanced knowledge of both Black Hat & White Hat SEO.
Needful or inexperienced SEOs may use these practices to twist and manipulate the SERPs. The tactics told by them may work for the time being and SEs soon update their algorithms to check these so called Blue Hat SEO practices.
All the best.
