Yes, you'd do better to read around a bit first, then you'll know enough to ask questions!

Posted this keyword research info on my blog ages ago - specifically on-topic, though the Overture keyword tool is defunct now.
Here are some basic steps you can follow:
1 - find a tool and read the tutorial, if provided - it's critical you understand HOW to use the tool and WHAT it's telling you
2 - paid tools almost always give you access to better data than paid tools
3 - free tools, though, are still a viable way to manage your keyword research efforts
4 - here's my basic process for managing keyword research:
~ I create a seed list base don the pages on my site, so if I have a site about Jeeps, for example, I might start with things like Wrangler, Cherokee, CJ, offroad, Jeep Parts, Jeep Accessories, so on and so forth.
~ I'd find these as I'd have a page targeting each item, so all pages I have - each page targeting a specific topic/idea/keyowrd, etc.
~ I'd then use my tool of choice to build a keyword list - the tools list volume of searches on related phrases, so it helps me see exactly what users are looking for.
*NOTE - I'm speaking in a circle here - typically you'd do the research from a seed list of ideas BEFORE you built any pages.

1. Try to select unique key words that your competitors have not thought of.
2. Optimize for your most profitable key words. How many sales does the key word generate? How much
profit is made for each of these sales?
3. Make sure that the key words are very relevant to your site so that people who find your site through your
key words will not immediately leave.
4. Try to assemble a list of key words that covers your site very will so that you aren’t leaving anyone or
anything out.

hi
If your website is new and you want to target suitable keywords for the website . Do the following:
1) Note down all the services your website is providing. Decide on primary and secondary keywords.
2) Consider the keywords with which your customers will search for your services/website.eg if your website sell mobile than user will probably search for cheap mobile phone, best mobile phone etc
3) Take a close look at the keywords your competitors are emphasizing on.
4) There are some free and paid keyword research tools available online. Extract the keywords that have more searches and are relevant to your website/services.
5) Don't target more than 3 keywords on a single page.
6) Also consider the geographical location in your keywords.
And then make a distilled final list and then start working on it.
Cheers

You are very welcome.
But you'd do better to start your own thread, here - not post in someone else's thread

Keywords are playing vital role in SEO,selecting the right one will be beneficial for our site.keywords strictly depends on the theme of the site, there need to overall study the whole site and find out most competitor site after then track the Meta keywords and description of that site and check search volume by using tools either by wordtraker or keyword discovery and track the result for most competitive one and use those key phases as primary keywords.
