I had a first page rankings for several keywords and now they have dropped to pages 3, 4, or 5. My page positions were the same for about a year and all dropped within the last week. I have not made any major changes to my site other than adding links. Any clues as to how I can regain my positions?

How about some good news and bad news all at once?

The good news is its not going to be over for a few weeks(Your positions may still rebound).

The bad news is its not going to be over for a few weeks(temporary loss in sales).

Maybe the recent drop in website positioning is a result of more pages being indexed. Its must be harder to keep a position if there are now 150 millions pages indexed for a keyword when before there was only 70 million.

I noticed a big drop in ranking for internal pages. Wher internal pages ranked for certain terms, not only have rankings dropped but the new lower ranking results are the home page instead of previous internal page. Found that a bit strange.

I would think whatever they are doing will have the knob turned back because some results are not user convenient. For example....delivering a "steakhouse" page for "pizza" related search. ZThat doesn't make sense?
