Yahoo Search Basics lists --- Title, description, keywords and alt tags as good to go SEO Techniques.
(Can provide link by pm if anyone wants it)
Is there some rule of thumb guidance on keyword density ratios that may constitute spam, I have #4 for a three word phrase, very, very competitive phrase that making up the other three places could prove very lucrative. I have analysed the other sites and know what I need to do with regards to density, grammer,
user-first text etc. but concerned about being penalised if I do.
Or.....does keyword density not matter so much in Yahoo as it does with Goooogle.
Thanks as always

don't go over %8 and you should be fine. Try puting the keyword in bold or underline it.
hope that helps...

#4 is not a bad position. IMO, don't play with on page factors. Try to get more backlinks with your targeted keywords as link text.
