    Hi All,

Our pages disappeared from the Yahoo search results few months ago except for the index page. For the past two years, we have paid for Yahoo! Directory Inclusion. Annual Fee is $299.00.

Now it is up for renewal. We have top rankings in both Google and MSN. Since we are no longer in Yahoo. Is it worth it to pay the annual $299.00 fee ? Will it affect our other ranking if we don't pay it ?

    Thanks.

    Arkada

I presume you analyse your logs. Where do you rank elsewhere? If you have not revised or altered your pages in the time you have indicated in your post, why would you expect a superior result from your efforts?

Paid inclusion has nothing to do with indexing. Content does.

Hi arkada, only the homepage of my site was indexed through yahoo directory submission. The rest of the pages in the yahoo index were old pages, and yahoo somehow has not gotten round to indexing the new pages. But I found that my site is getting good rankings for the keywords which I submitted to yahoo earlier during the time of submission, with my homepage appearing in the ranked results. So, my own experience is that if your pages are not indexed properly by yahoo, then it is no harm joining the yahoo directory. It is also a good back link too.

    Maybe it's worth it.

    Look up in google

    Portland Landscape Designer

My site and another should be at the top spots.

If you add an "s" on that search for designers, we switch places.

The one - garden aesthetics, has less inbound links. It does use the vocabulary "landscape" and "design" more in it's home page, but I don't think that should justify its pagerank of a 5.

I think it has only 5 or 6 inbound links. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's what I think the results were when I checked once.

My guess was that the owner of that site was paying for directory space with Yahoo or otherwise.
