What's the hottest Christmas Items This Year?
Last year it was the Razor scooter and the Sony Playstation... and before that it was the Tickle Me Elmo doll. You know, those gifts that everyone wants that no one can find; they cost $100 normally but go for $1000 2 days before Christmas?

What's hot this year? Can anyone tell me? I want to go buy 100 or 1000 of them and sell them online on my site(s)! And I'm sure you do, too!

Well it's got to have "Harry Potter" in it's name, for starters. If you are a parent, good luck in any attempt you make to not buy a Harry Potter gift.

I'm not even trying - I am going to roll over and buy something next week.

I see that a search for "Harry Potter" at Overture shows the top bidder at 31 cents. Seems like it probably would be higher than that.

I know Harry Potter items in general are hot, but I still haven't found one single item that is hard to get that everyone wants. At least now like it was a few years ago with those Tickle Me Elmo dolls.

You're right, Sinoed. The Xbox seems to the be one of the hottest products right now. But you CAN get them. What I'm looking for is something that, when put on the store shelves, disappears in 1 to 2 minutes. Last year we saw that with the Sony Playstation; and a few years before that it was the Tickle Me Elmo doll.

Just as a side - from memory I believe the guy who owned the domain xbox.com sold it to Microsoft for $25,000 a couple of years ago.

Probably worth a lot more than that really.

You're right, that xbox domain probably would go for a lot more right now. However, Microsoft got it cheap while it could; the guy who sold it probably thought that that was a lot of money from that domain. At that time, there was no xbox, so Microsoft was getting it cheap while they could. And they're probably buying up more domains as we speak that will be used for more products that they will have in the future.

Are there any products out there that are really hot right now that you're selling on your site? OR maybe no one will tell us since they want all the customers for themselves?

Harry Potter junk would be most in demand by my daughter and her friends, from books to toys and on. But, as stated, it's all pretty easy to get right now. The holiday barbies were hot a few years running, most gone by thanksgiving, but that has fallen off over the last 2 yrs.

Lord of the Rings stuff should be seeing a bit of a boost once the movie releases next week. Yet even there I don't see anything that would be in hot demand. (I never did understand the whole Tickle Me Elmo thing.. must have been something in the water)

I don't think your going to really find anything this year, while we are a consumer nation - all of us were forced to take a step back and reevaluate our priorities a couple months ago. For the first time in years it looks like my whole family is actually going to make an effort to get together (extended relations I mean), geez can you say disfunctional.. 2 tickets to Hawaii please

I'm a bit of a collector - Lord of the Rings First Edition UK novels are going for a mint now - not even the 1st printings but later ones. You can still get Harry Potter 1st ed. UK copies for cheap still. Me, I am searching for Lord of the Ring trilogy novels 1 ed 1 print.

erwinloh, I found a few first editions at Barnes and Noble... they certainly ARE going for a LOT of money!

The xbox domain is pretty useless without the xbox product I'm suprised microsft paid so much for it, I bet they could have got it cheaper than $25,000 especially if they did not disclose who they where.

If they did that people would now be talking about how they ripped off this poor little guy.

This way is better for all concerned and the dollars mean little to MS.

xbox is a cool name, but even still, for 25G's.. maybe they could have called it zbox.
